Books Real Estate Agents Should Read
Back when I was in junior high and high school, we used to receive a summer reading list. Everyone grunted and groaned when the teacher passed out the summer reading list. Usually it consisted of a minimum of three books (two of which were usually going to be boring beyond belief) that we would be required to read before the first day of school.
The best teachers would test us on the reading during the first or second week of school. So, you were doomed to begin the year with bad marks if you didn’t do the reading.
I’m not giving any tests this summer. But, if you are looking for some good summer reads that will help you boost your business to the next level, I’d recommend checking these out. (What’s the best part? None have anything to do with transaction coordinating whatsoever!)
- Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. In this 1100+ page opus, Rand gives you food for thought that will keep you satisfied for the entire summer and beyond.
- The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. This page turner follows us through the life of one South African boy, and shows us that there is such a thing as karma—especially if you have trained as a boxer.
- Ultramarathon Man by Dean Karnazes. After you read this inspirational book about a man who can run like Forrest Gump, you’ll realize that you aren’t all that great just because you completed that marathon. You have much more you can accomplish if you put your mind to it.
- AWOL on the Appalachian Trail by David Miller. Could you give up everything—everything and hike the Appalachian Trail? Are you made of the metal that it takes to really survive when the going gets tough? This quick read will amaze you.
- Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. In this intriguing book, Gladwell shares what it takes to be a true expert. Believe it or not… that somehow translates to 10,000 hours. Do you have your 10,000 hours in transaction coordinating? We do.
- Start with Why by Simon Sinek. This book will help you understand what it really takes to attract clients, create a lasting business, and be a good leader with examples from people and products what we know. Fascinating stuff that will help you be better at what you do.
