1: the way in which one someone conducts oneself
This definition above of the word behavior comes from the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Behavior affects various aspects of our lives. How do you start your day? Is it with positive thoughts or negative ones? How do those thoughts influence your behavior for that day? In order to be a top producer, you have to have your mind in the right place from the time you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. Learn which behaviors can increase your chances of becoming a top producer.
Behaviors of a Top Producer
Confidence. Can you tell the difference between a shy person and a confident one? The truth is you’d never know a person was shy if they were confident. Confidence starts with believing in yourself. Be proud of who you are and know that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Confidence can be built if you don’t feel like you were born with it. Start with your posture, don’t curl your back and stand straight. Prepare yourself before you speak to clients so you go in level-headed and ready to answer any questions they may have or provide valuable insight.
Adaptable. Life will throw curveballs your way when you least expect it. Learning to adapt to those changes can help you navigate life when you’re in rocky waters. No one ever got very far by being stuck in their old ways. Adapting allows you to open your mind and see current situations for what they are rather than wishing they were a certain way.
Cooperative. Working with your broker, your team, escrow, the lender, the buyers, and the sellers can seem overwhelming sometimes because you have all of these different personalities working together. Different personalities can sometimes clash and not everyone gets along. But the important thing to remember is that you all have one common goal (if you don’t, you should). That one common goal is to get the escrow to closing. Buyer gets a new house, seller gets money, agents, escrow, and the lender get paid. How you get there depends on how everyone behaves. With good behavior, everyone gets to the finish line happily. With bad behavior, you may get to the finish line but lose some friends on the way.
Optimistic. Looking at the glass half full rather than the glass half empty can help you tremendously. If you expect bad things to happen, bad things will happen. When you think of a blue car, do you notice that you start to see more blue cars on the road? Expect good things to happen, and more good will come out of your day.
Grateful. When you don’t get exactly what you want, you sometimes forget to be grateful for what you have. The relationships you’ve made have helped grow yourself and your career. Remember to thank those who helped you get where you are today.
Honorable Mention: Sincere. Caring about others is a must if you wish to be successful. Genuinely wanting to help out an individual will help them trust you more.
Listed above are some of the key behaviors needed to become a top producer. Your behavior has a large impact on your day and it can be the determining factor of a good day or a bad day. Remember that you cannot control what happens in your day but you can decide how you react to it.
